Programs for Alcohol Addiction and Drug Addiction Treatment in Nevada
May 17, 2008
Nevada has a very definite program for dealing with its twin problems of alcohol addiction and drug addiction. This program is run by the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency of the state of Nevada.
The main intention of this program is to reduce the effect of addiction in the state by making coercive efforts towards the same. The program tries to achieve this by implementing a statewide plan for prevention of substance abuse in Nevada, and also to make provisions for the right kind of intervention, treatment options and complete recovery through continuing care and counseling within the state.Towards this end, the program for substance abuse treatment in Nevada has identified the major treatment providers in the state and has started providing them with funds so that they can dispense their functions in the rightful manner. Innovations are welcome, but they are subject to scrutiny and tests before they can be assimilated into the cornucopia of the addiction treatment program of Nevada. The funds are directed from the federal treasury and are available for alcohol addiction as well as drug addiction in Nevada.
Another important aspect of this statewide program is that it allows the state to certify, authorize and regulate the various treatment options that are run within Nevada. It can keep an overview of all the addiction treatment programs and prevention programs that are running within the state. Through funding these organizations, it can also increase the competitiveness among the various addiction treatment centers so that they can provide better services to the Nevadans.
